I actually really like driving my Mom’s 2017 Outback. Only complaint I can come up with is that it is massive.

I asked my daughter which she would rather have, her mom’s Explorer or her grandmother’s Outback. She couldn’t say Outback fast enough. Her primary reason? It’s so much smaller than the Explorer.

Well I daily drive a Mini. The 2017 Outback is also much larger than the 2001 Outback we also own and is noticeably bigger than the 2010 Legacy it replaces.

You’re saying it’s all a matter of perspective....

I daily a WRX and don’t feel the Outback is that much bigger. The two exceptions are the height and the ass-end. There’s no getting around it, there’s a lot more room in the back of the Outback.

The Outback is about 3 feet longer, 10 inches taller, and 3 inches wider than the mini. Other than the length, that really isn’t much bigger in my book.

cool - my subie salesman has one of those with the 6cyl and an aftermarket exhaust. It’s noticeable especially at startup and heavy throttle, but not too loud.
